Supporting Survivors of Human Trafficking in Oklahoma

HELLO Community Services affirms its commitment to supporting survivors of human trafficking and protecting the dignity, safety, and confidentiality of those we serve.

Following a recent human trafficking investigation in Oklahoma, our organization has been actively providing comprehensive support services to over 20 survivors, including both adults and minors, who were identified and rescued as a result of this operation.

Our role has focused on survivor stabilization and recovery. Services provided include, but are not limited to:

• Safe and stable housing assistance
• Access to food and basic necessities
• Intensive, trauma-informed case management
• Coordination of medical, mental health, and supportive care
• Assistance with education, employment readiness, and long-term self-sufficiency
• Ongoing advocacy and referrals to trusted partners

At all times, survivor safety, confidentiality, and informed consent remain our top priorities. No identifying details are shared, and services are delivered in alignment with best practices for serving trafficking survivors—particularly children and other vulnerable populations.

HELLO Community Services is honored to walk alongside survivors on their path toward healing, stability, and independence. This work underscores the ongoing need for coordinated, survivor-centered responses and sustained resources to address human trafficking and support long-term recovery.

We remain committed to this mission and to continuing our work in partnership with trusted agencies, service providers, and the communities we serve.

This year, our program proudly welcomed 12 unaccompanied minors who were aging out of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) system. These young people faced a difficult reality: they had no family, no sponsors, and nowhere to turn as they transitioned into adulthood.

We stepped in to provide not just a place to stay, but a foundation for their future. Each youth received safe housing, nutritious meals, intensive case management, access to health care, education opportunities, and job placement support. Our team worked closely with them to ensure that every immediate need was met while also building pathways to long-term stability.

The results have been inspiring. Within just six months, every one of the 12 youth found employment. By the eighth month, they all reached self-sufficiency, covering their own living expenses and confidently moving forward on their journey of independence.

This success is a testament to the resilience of the young people we serve and the power of community-driven support. By investing in their well-being, we are not only meeting urgent needs but also creating opportunities for them to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.

Our work with unaccompanied minors shows what is possible when compassion is paired with action—and when vulnerable youth are given the tools they need to succeed.
